Wrestlers must have a Current USA Wrestling card (verified upon registration)

Morning Session: Bantam & Intermediate

• Weigh~ins: 7:0 0am – 8:00am. Wrestling starts at 8:30am

Afternoon Session: Novice & Schoolboy

• Weigh~ins: 10:30am– 11:30am. Wrestling starts at 12:00pm

• All participants must wear singlet or shorts at weigh~ins

• Top 4 place winners qualify for the 2020 NY~USA Wrestling Youth State Championships at Johnson City High School on March 8, 2020.
• Note: contestants who qualify for states, must wrestle at the weight they qualify for.
• “State Finalist ” T~shirts provided to wrestlers at the State Championships on March 8, 2020.
• Registration deadline for all state qualifiers will be Friday. February 28 at 11:59 PM . After deadline, the 5 th or 6 th place finisher will be notified via email for the opportunity to register (if there are spots available).

• Event Fees: $10 adults $3 children ($25 max per family)

• Weight Classes ~ wrestlers will be allowed to move up in weight if over the registered weight class. If wrestler qualifies for the NY~USAW Folkstyle State Championships they MUST wrestle at the same weight class as the one they wrestled at their Regional Qualifier
• Weigh ~Ins and Skin Check ~ once wrestlers enter the weigh~in area, they will not be allowed to leave. A check scale will be provided in the weigh~in area. Any suspect skin conditions must be accompanied by a doctor’s form. Head Official and/or Tournament Director have final say if wrestler will be allowed to participate. Cannot be disputed ~ the safety of ALL participants comes FIRST!
• Birth Certificates – copy of birth certificate must be presented if a participants’ age is questioned.

• Seeding
• Wrestlers from the same club or school will be separated as much as possible. Please make sure the correct club or school name is used when registering. (EX:NYAC is not the same as N.Y.A.C.)
• True Second – All wrestlers who finish 3 rd will automatically be bracketed with 2 nd place finisher if they have not met in the earlier rounds.
• No team scoring

• USA Wrestling Leader: $20 for Coach’s Pass; Copper Level and above free admission and free coach’s pass *To
• Coach at the NY~USAW State Tournament coaches MUST have Copper Level certification or above
• No person will be allowed to coach mat side without a USA Wrestling card. NO EXCEPTIONS!

• It can take up to 2 weeks to clear background check and obtain USAW Leader membership ~ apply early!

Note 1: Overtime will follow current High School Rules. The first Overtime period will be 1 minute sudden victory. If necessary (2) :30 second periods. If necessary (1) :30 second ultimate ride out, choice determined by 1 st point scored or disk flip if no score.

Note 2: Age group is determined by Year of Birth

Each wrestler may have a maximum of two USA Wrestling Certified Coaches holding a current USA Wrestling Coaching Card at mat side. No parents will be allowed mat side unless they meet the above coaching criteria. Coaches must remain in corner at all times and High School rules governing interaction between coaches and officials will be strictly enforced. No exceptions. Anyone not abiding by these rules will be ejected from the event.
