THERE IS NO ADVANCEMENT FROM THIS TOURNAMENT.  ANY WRESTLER WHO WISHES TO COMPETE IN THE AREA VI YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT AT MEADVILLE WILL NEED TO RE-APPLY FOR THAT TOURNAMENT

***There will be no weight allowance   Wrestlers must make pre-registered weight or be scratched***

ABSOLUTELY NO PHONE ENTRIES OR WALKINS will be considered.  Please send applications in team lots if possible.   
Application MUST be read and signed at spaces noted or application is void. This form may be duplicated.

1.    Entry fee covers entry requirements and insurance.  Fee is $25.00
2.    A wrestlers age group classification is determined by his age on December 31.  EXAMPLE: A wrestlers 7th birthday is 1/1/2015. That wrestler is considered to be 6 years old because he was 6 on 12/31/14
3.    P.I.A.A. rules will govern all matches, except as modified by PJW.
4.    All bouts will consist of three periods of  1 * 1 * 1 minutes, overtime 1:00 sudden death, :30 rideout.
5.    Headgear is required in all PJW Tournaments.
6.    The PIAA shoelace rule will be enforced.  Please be prepared to secure or tape shoelaces.
7.    The hair rule for the Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling tournaments will be enforced as defined in the National Federation Rules Book and adopted by the P.I.A.A.
8.    Participants must weigh in at the weight class they have entered.  There will be no shifting of weights or substitutions at weigh-in time.  Entrants not making weight will be scratched.  Weigh-in will be required only once for each tournament.   A 55 POUND WRESTLER MUST WEIGH 55.0 OR LESS !!!
9.    A wrestler cannot wrestle outside his/her age group, and may enter in one weight class only.  Exception: a wrestler exceeding the limit for the last weight class in 6 & UNDER may enter the appropriate weight class in the next higher age group.
10.    The source of rules governing this tournament will be the P.I.A.A. Rule Book, the Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling Rules Booklet, and the Area Rules that apply to the operation of the qualifying tournament.
11.    Only fulltime residents of Pennsylvania may enter the Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling tournaments.
12.    The application form and the code of conduct form must be completed entirely for an applicant to be considered for entry to the PJW tournament.
13.     The NFHS undergarment rule will be applied.  All contestants must weigh in wearing a suitable undergarment.    
14.    **NEW THIS YEAR** ** THE NFHS/PIAA RULE ON REQUIRING A MOUTHPIECE IF A WRESTLER HAS BRACES WILL BE ENFORCED!!!!!
15.    The NEW haircover/headgear rule will NOT be enforced this year.  Coaches and wrestlers should prepare for it to be enforced in 2016.


RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY AGREEMENT & PARTICIPANT CODE OF CONDUCT

I acknowledge that I have voluntarily applied to participate in the Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling (PJW) Tournament.   I am aware that these activities may be hazardous and that I could be seriously injured.  I am voluntarily participating with knowledge of the danger involved, and agree to assume any and all risks of bodily injury, or death, whether those risks are known or unknown.
As consideration for being permitted by PJW, and any owner, administrator, tournament director, chairperson of the premises holding any of the events, to participate in these activities and use the premises and facilities,  I forever release PJW or any Lessor or any PJW affiliated organization, and their respective directors, officers, employees, volunteers, agents, contractors,  and representatives (collectively *Releasees*) from any and all actions, claims, or demands that I, my assignees, heirs, distributees, guardians, next of kin, spouse and legal representatives now have, or may have in the future, for injury, death, or property damage, related to (i) my participation in these activities, (ii) the negligence or other acts, whether directly connected to these activities or not, and however caused, by any Releasee, or(iii) the condition of the premises where  these activities occur, whether or not I am then participating in the activities.   I also agree that I, my assignees, heirs, distributees, guardians, next of kin, spouse and legal representatives will not make a claim against, sue, or attach the property of any Releasee in connection with any of the matters covered by the foregoing release.

I have carefully read this agreement and fully understand its contents.  I am aware this is a release of liability and a contract between myself and PJW, and the lessors, and sign it of my own free will.  When Signed by Parent or Guardian: I recognize the dangers of the activities and the significance of this Release and Waiver were explained to the Participant and that the Participant understood them, or I, as parent of the Participant, understand them.
I understand the Tournament Director, under the guidance of the PJW rules and administration, may withdraw our son/daughter from any Tournament if he/she is involved in behavior or activity deemed to be detrimental to the health, safety or welfare of other participants, spectators, tournament staff, or tournament sites; or if involved in actions considered to be detrimental to the goals and objectives of PJW or in violation of the PJW Code of Conduct.  We have read and agree with the tournament rules as listed on the information page.
